πŸ•˜ Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The workshop explores the innovations and research trends in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), Geothermal, and Hydrogen, emphasizing their role in transforming the energy landscape. The CCUS discussion will focus on industrial decarbonization through technology development and upscaling from demo projects to large CCUS networks. Advances in geothermal energy extraction will be discussed, with a focus on enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) and co-production from hydrocarbon reservoirs. Hydrogen would be evaluated as a flexible energy vector, with innovations in production, and subsurface storage. The global community is accelerating its efforts to achieve net-zero emissions.

Although significant progress has been made in technological advancement and policy alignment of individual decarbonization pathways, the interconnected infrastructure that will be critical for effective implementation remains a serious hurdle. To address this challenge, the workshop talks emphasize integrating technologies to bridge the gap between emerging research.

Key themes include:
β€’ Carbon capture utilization and storage
β€’ Geothermal energy development and usage
β€’ Hydrogen production and storage challenges and opportunities
This one-day event will facilitate key talks, presentations by industry leaders, researchers, and Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD students, aiming to catalyse collaborative action and long-term planning for a decarbonized energy future.
Workshop is sponsored by Nordic Energy Research and is organized in collaboration with BASRECCS and Kauno Technologies Universitetas.

Session highlights:
β€’ Firsthand interactions with established Industry Players in the field of CCUS, Geothermal and Hydrogen.
β€’ Listen to researcher and innovators in the field of sustainable energy production and use.
